Library support is to help you use the library services for course related research and assignments. Your academic support worker can assist you with locating and accessing resources and where appropriate typing up/recording information.
Please note that your academic support worker is unable to contribute to the subject content of your assignment work.

Library support is only available to students who have a specific need for it and must be approved by an adviser from Access Solent before it is put in place. If you’re not sure whether you are eligible enquire with Access Solent.
There are few things you can do to maximise the usefulness of this service.
If there is a change to your timetable which affects your library support please let Access Solent know as soon as possible so that we can rearrange your support. We ask that you give at least 48 hours notice of any changes. If you only become aware of the change at short notice please let us know as soon as you are able.
If you are running late or are going to be absent please contact Access Solent. If you are late your academic support worker is able to wait at the agreed meeting point for a maximum of 20 minutes. If you are late the time you have missed will not be added on at the end of your support session.
If you are consistently late or absent without contacting Access Solent we reserve the right to suspend your support and ask you to attend a review. The review is aimed at discussing any difficulties you may have been having and making sure the support you have been allocated is right for you.
There is no charge to you as this service is paid for by your Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). Please make sure you remember to reapply for DSA at the beginning of each academic year.
If you are not eligible for DSA then you may still be able to receive library support please discuss this with an Adviser.
You will be asked to sign for each library support session you receive.
