Student funding


The student funding team are available via email for any funding related enquiries from UK, EU and International students. 

We will now accept all grant* applications (with their evidence as per the application form) by email to 

Forms will continue to be assessed on a case by case basis and students will be notified directly to their university email.   

Students must ensure they have provided their UK bank account details via the portal using this secure link:

*Please note if you are applying to the ‘unpaid placement support grant’ please check your placement is still going ahead before applying. 


The student funding team aims to help students with all matters relating to their student finance ranging from:

  • Funding calculatorStudent funding entitlement.
  • How and when to apply for funding.
  • What forms to complete.
  • Help with more complex funding matters e.g. if you leave/change or suspend your course.
  • Support in claiming 'compelling personal reasons'.
  • Help claiming estrangement.
  • Help if your funding is delayed.
  • Liaise with Student Finance England.
  • ...and much more.

Please note, students studying an apprenticeship course are not eligible for an SLC loan (maintenance loan) for living costs and therefore should check their course page on the university’s website for more information on how they fund their studies
