Grants for Diagnostic Assessments

This grant is to support students requiring a diagnostic assessment in order to receive support from the university and the 'Disabled Students’ Allowance.'     

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must have registered with Access Solent and seen a disability adviser.
  • Full and part-time UG & PG UK ‘home’ students are eligible to apply. 

  • Students must be enrolled at Solent University and if eligible, must have received their maximum Maintenance Loan/ Postgraduate Loan. 

  • Awards may be means-tested, based on the level of loan you receive. 

Applications will be accepted from:

  • Monday, 7 October 2019 to Friday, 26 June 2020 by 3pm or until funds are exhausted. 

How to apply 

  • Please complete the ‘Diagnostic Assessment Support Grant’ application form (which will be given to you by Access Solent). 

  • You must then see a Funding Adviser in the Student Hub, RM050, to submit the form. 

  • Forms left at the Student Hub desk without permission may not be processed. 

  • A decision should be made within 2 – 3 working weeks of submission. 

  • You will receive an email notifying you of the result of your application. 

What happens next?

  • Once you’ve arranged your Diagnostic Assessment, please email with the confirmation of your assessment date, in order for the funds to be released. 

  • Awards will then be paid by BACS into your bank account.
