The University will always endeavour to ensure that fees are charged correctly, but sometimes you may feel you have been charged incorrectly, unfairly or that you have mitigating factors which means fees may no longer apply.
It's important that you do raise any issues with the University. We may not always be aware of the problem, and your feedback helps us to maintain the standard of experience we would want for our students.
Please note that this procedure doesn't cover problems with marks, results and examinations, for which a separate academic appeals procedure exists. In addition this procedure doesn't cover problems with accommodation, facilities or the standard of teaching which are covered under the student complaints procedure.

If you are experiencing financial hardship or would like to discuss how you pay your fees, these are not grounds for appeal, but you can contact the income team to discuss your situation.
We would encourage students to first try and resolve issues informally as in most cases this is the quickest and most effective way to resolve a problem. There are a number of people you can speak to about your issues and you can find contact details below.
If you have been unable to resolve the issues informally you can submit a formal fee appeal. You should never be concerned about making a fee appeal.
The University will always ensure that any fee appeal is treated seriously, fairly and transparently, and with impartiality.
In order to submit an appeal, please download and complete a non accommodation fee appeal form and submit this to the Student Hub, or the income team.
Non accommodation fee appeal form
The Student Hub is a central space where you can access all of the information and support you need during your time at University. Staff will help you resolve any query and if they cannot answer the question themselves they will find the person who can.
Day to day running of student accounts is administered by the income team. This includes the collection of tuition and other student fees (except for accommodation) both directly and via sponsors, as well as payments and other cash office functions.
