The library is open for members of the public to visit and use as a reference collection during the following hours only:
Access to the building outside of these times is restricted to University students and staff only.
If you are not a University student or member of staff, please bring valid photographic ID and we can issue you with a visitor's pass. Please note: only original forms of ID will be accepted, copies and photographs of ID cannot be used.

Mountbatten library is a member of the SCONUL Access scheme.
Visiting SCONUL subscribers must have an approval email from SCONUL and a valid university ID card to register. Registrations can usually be processed during the following hours:
SCONUL Access does not include access to the library's computers, photocopiers, wi-fi, study rooms or electronic resources.
Subscription Service for individualsMembers of the public may apply to use Mountbatten Library as a borrower. Subscribers are offered a book loans service (up to four items at a time).
Services for franchised colleges
Students from franchised colleges enrolled on a Southampton Solent University franchised course also have borrowing rights.
Please note: Visitors and subscribers do not have access to the library's computers, photocopiers, wi-fi, study rooms or electronic resources.
