The University's institutional repository is a website for you to publish your research and enterprise output at the University. This will help increase visibility of your research and has great potential for sharing information and research with other institutions. Find out more about Solent Electronic Archive (SEA) in our factsheet.
Solent Electronic Archive (SEA) Factsheet
You are invited to self-archive your material, but of course if you need any help there is an institutional repository support group you can turn to - contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A reference without full text is fine if you are unable to establish publisher permissions or you would rather not make your material available via open access. However, HEFCE are moving towards expecting journal articles and conference papers to meet open access requirements for post-2014 REF exercises. By depositing your work on SEA, you can get ahead and make sure you're compliant for the future.
Log in to the Solent Electronic Archive (SEA) at http://sea.solent.ac.uk using your normal University username and password.
After you have logged in to SEA:
Your document details should be placed carefully into the next fields. Please ensure that:
"Typically, when an article is published, the author assigns copyright, or gives a copyright license to the publisher. Depending on the particular agreement that is signed, the author retains more or less rights to use the article." (SHERPA, 2011)
If you need to, please email email@example.com for more information about copyright and permissions.
Choose a heading which is as close to the subject of the material you are depositing as you can. Subject headings help your material to be findable when searched for. If you can’t find one that fits, please contact the Library by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Click the Deposit button and your material is part of the repository.
