Loan FAQs for part-time and distance learning students

What am I entitled to borrow?

Undergraduate students
15 items  - this increases to 25 items for students in their final year

Postgraduate students
25 items

Can books be set aside for me to collect?

The book collection service allows up to eight books to be set aside for you to collect from the Mountbatten information point within seven days. Use the library catalogue to make your selection then use the book collection service form.

Please note: it is not possible to place one day loan or reference items aside for collection.

Do I receive notification of overdue books and reservation notices?

The library will send any overdue notifications to your university email account. If you have reserved a book online (when all copies were on loan) we will email you when the item is ready for collection.

Is there a postal service for books?

At present, this is not possible. You may return items by post, but you will be responsible for any items borrowed on your campus card.
