Career Background

After qualifying with a Degree in English Language and Modern History from the University of Southampton, I worked for five years (2007-2012) as an LRA in the Learning Resources Centre at Southampton City College. In 2010 I spent time gaining teaching work experience at Kings' School in Winchester.

I joined Solent University in November 2012. In October 2017 I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Library Studies from Aberystwyth University.

Outside of work, I play a range of sport, in particular football. I also enjoy running and keeping fit and in September 2017 successfully completed the Three Peaks Challenge in under 24 hours.

I enjoy new and different experiences, particularly when travelling abroad. I've been horseriding through the Rockies in Canada, visited a crocodile farm in Cuba, snowmobiled up a volcano in Iceland, parasailed off the coast of Greece, dodged cobras in the marketplaces of Morocco and enjoyed a Turkish bath in Istanbul.
