    The staff and student portal has been updated and enhanced to improve your user experience, no matter what device you are viewing it on.

    Get quick and easy access to news, applications and essential information in a new responsive design that looks great on computers, tablets and smartphones.

    Click 'next' to take a quick tour of the portal's most useful features.

    Find your dashboard tab on the home page - a convenient view that gives you personalised applications including the phonebook, noticeboard and library loans.

    Customise your dashboard to suit your needs. Use the add button to add more items. Drag them around the screen to get them in the order that works best for you.

    The apps menu is an easy route to essential and everyday applications used during student or staff life, such as email, timetables, library loans and noticeboard.

    The apps menu is fully customisable so you can add the shortcuts that you need and re-order them so they are easy for you to find.

    The Solent menu gives you a quick way to access other university websites. Get to important tools you need for your studies such as myCourse, succeed@solent and the library catalogue as well as websites such as the Students' Union and Solent Sport.

    Use the Accessibility tab on the footer to unveil the portal's accessibility settings. Change the text size and background colour directly to suit your needs. You can also switch to the text only view of the portal.
