EU citizens wishing to remain in the UK beyond 31 December 2020, in line with the draft Withdrawal Agreement, will need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme by 30 June 2021.
The EU Settlement Scheme has been tested since summer 2018 and ahead of the opening on 30 March 2019. From 21 January 2019 students who are EU nationals and hold a valid biometric passport are able to apply under the settlement scheme as part of the next phase of testing.
International Advice team held information sessions for EU students interested in learning more about the EU Settlement Scheme on Wednesday 6 February and recording from the presentation is available for you to watch here:
Citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland
The government have also confirmed a deal on citizens’ rights which will allow citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.
