Assignment Hand-in Arrangements
You will normally be required to submit at least one assignment in each unit during the period. These form an integral part of the assessment process.
At the beginning of each teaching period Unit tutors will give you the assignment specification indicating the work required. Clearly you may not be able to attempt this straight away, though it is useful to know so that you can plan your work through the Semester.
You will also be provided with details of hand-in dates that must be strictly met. It should be noted that it is not always possible to stagger these hand-in dates for assignments, particularly when a large number of options are available.
Time management of assignments is a skill that will serve you well throughout your studies.
There are two methods for handing in your assignments:
(a) by handing in a hard copy to the Faculty Office (RM210), or
(b) in electronic format through 'turnitin'.
If you are directed to hand in a hard copy you should complete an Assignment Form which is available outside the Faculty Office, and attach it securely to your work before handing it in.
Your work will be stamped with the hand-in date and time, and you will be issued with a receipt. Outside of office hours you should use the letter box situated outside the Faculty Office.
Do not hand your work directly to your tutor - it must come through the office where it can be logged as proof of hand-in.
The deadline for submission of hard copy assignments is 4.00pm on the due date.
Remember - you can hand your work in at any time - please do not wait for the deadline and risk a late penalty being imposed!
If you are directed to hand your work in 'on-line', you should carefully follow the directions you are given in the assessment brief.
