Researcher Development Programme

RDP Event image

Solent’s Researcher Development Programme (RDP) offers a range of opportunities for Solent staff and research students to develop research, professional and personal skills.

Solent’s RDP is based on the national Researcher Development Framework (developed by Vitae) and is guided by Solent’s research and innovation strategy. The RDP focuses on four key areas:

  • Knowledge and intellectual abilities.

  • Personal effectiveness.

  • Research governance and organisation.

  • Engagement, influence and impact.

The RDP caters for all levels of experience, from early career researchers to doctoral research to those with more experience. There are a range of options and you can choose the activities which are right for you at each stage of your researcher development.

Some of the events that we host throughout the year include:

  • Online Ethics application tutorials
  • Programme workshops such as PIVOT and Vitae
  • Specific Hub related sessions including guest speakers
  • Early career researcher sessions
  • Referencing workshops in conjunction with the Library
  • REF sessions
  • Support sessions related to our Annual Research and Innovation Conference
  • And much much more.
