Inter-Library Loans

Ordering items from another library

BooksDid you know that if we don't hold a book or journal you really need it can be obtained from another library?

The Inter-Library Loans (ILLs) service is available FREE for all staff, postgraduates, research students and final year undergraduates.

Final year students and those in their 2nd year preparing for dissertations may request up to 15 inter library loans per year; Masters students 30 per year and an unlimited number for PhD students and academic staff.

Service for 1st year students maybe available after scrutiny by information librarians.

To use the Inter-Library Loans (ILLs) service please first read the Step-by-Step guide and then complete the form which is available from that page.

Further Information

For further assistance or for any queries concerning the progress of your requests, please email us at ill-ml@solent.ac.uk  or ask at the Document Delivery Office ML014.

Further information is available in the Inter-Library Loans leaflet

Note: Possible disruption to service

The British Library has reported that as a result of asbestos being found in their document Supply Centre buildings, certain parts of their collections are temporarily unavailable for lending, copying or scanning.  As the majority of our requests are fulfilled by the British Library, regrettably there will be some disruption to supply for as long as this situation exists, though we will do our best to minimise this.  For further information please contact the Document delivery Office (ML014)
