RefWorks - New

Bibliographic software which helps with your referencing!

RefWorks allows you to create an online store of references for items you have consulted. You can then use these details to produce in-text references and bibliographies on different topics or in a variety of styles, and include these in your assignments.

New users should use RefWorks – New.  Users of RefWorks – Legacy can migrate their account to the New version if they wish to take advantage of the improved functionality.

Go to RefWorks - New

This is the new version of RefWorks and will replace the Legacy version during 2017/18.

  • Drag and drop pdf files into RefWorks to save the document and extract the reference data
  • Save to RefWorks toolbar button to extract reference data from websites, articles and more
  • Store full text documents and webpage contents and add annotations

Other reference management tools

There are many other free referencing tools that you can use such as Mendeley, Zotero and more.  Please be aware that only RefWorks features our approved institutional style, Harvard SSU.  If you use an alternative system you will need to edit your references to match our referencing factsheet before submitting your assignment.

RefWorks - Legacy

Existing RefWorks – Legacy users can choose to migrate to RefWorks – New.   Please note: if you have existing Word documents that you wish to edit, please continue to use RefWorks - Legacy for now.

To view PDF files you need to have Adobe Reader™ installed.
