Copy Desk
Self-Service Photocopier Machines
At East Park Terrace, there is a photocopy help desk on floor 2 of the library (towards the rear of the building). At the desk there, you will find staff able to assist with enquiries/problems.
There are 6 self-service black and white copiers and a self-service colour photocopier. A black and white copier and another colour copier/printer are located in the basement. There is also a scan to email machine located with the copiers.
To be able to use the copiers, users need to put credit on their network accounts. This can be done via the Cash Deposit Station located near the copy desk or in the Andrews or Matthews Learning Resource Centres. Users will need their University logins and passwords to do this.
Staff are set up separately, please see under staff photocopying for further information.
Payment can be made with coins or notes. Please note change is not given. Once credit has been put on to an account, users can start photocopying after logging in via the Copy Monitor keypad connected to each copier. After initially logging in on the keypad, users have the option to swipe the card or to use the keypad. Please note that no refund can be given for unused credit. The costs for photocopying are displayed at the photocopy help desk.
This same system is used to charge for the use of printers in the Library and other IT areas.
Occasional Library Users
There is a coin operated colour photocopier near the desk which is intended for external users. Charges are 10p for an A4 copy and 20p for A3 in black and white and 30p for an A4 copy and 60p for an A3 copy in colour. Please note the machine cannot give change or refunds.
Back-to-Back Photocopying
This is available on all photocopiers and assistance can be given by a member of the copy desk staff.
Staffed Service for copying, scanning and printing
The copy desk staff can assist with colour enhancements, with the editing of images and with acetate photocopying. The costs for these services are displayed at the Photocopy Centre desk. Staff can help with scanning images up to A3 size in full colour and printing is available up to 44" x 2.5m and 24" x 15m. A range of papers, canvases and films are available for printing on.
Whilst every care is taken with your work, please make sure that you have back-up copies of any discs or data you pass to us. We cannot take responsibility for any loss of data as discs and data can get corrupted - so please do take the precaution of keeping other copies.
Warsash
At Warsash, the same system applies and to be able to do photocopying or printing, students need to put credit on their network accounts using the Cash Deposit Machine situated on the first floor of the library.
There is no colour photocopier - so colour copying needs to be achieved by scanning the image and printing in colour.
