Spiral and Heat Binding
There are binding machines available for self-service use and instructions are displayed alongside the machines.
The combs and the plastic front and back covers are available at a cost from the copy desk. Costs are displayed at the desk.
If you require assistance with the binding of your work, a member of the copy desk staff will be pleased to assist, using either the spiral combs or the heat binding jackets.
Guillotines, large tables and a spray booth for using spray mount are all available on Floor 2A for any type of project work. Cutting mats and knives are available from the Copy Desk.

Thesis Binding
Have your thesis bound professionally!
For guidelines on layout, margins etc for a PhD or MPhil thesis, please see your faculty research administrative officer.
Hard-backed binding costs £28 per volume and £10.00 for a soft bound copy, this includes gold lettering on the spine i.e. your name, year and qualification. Additional lettering, such as the title of your thesis on the front cover will cost you an additional 8p per character.
Black is the usual colour for postgraduate theses, but you might like to choose a different colour for your own personal copy.
Our expert binder is quick and efficient and is normally able to turn the order around within 10 days.
