Loan Periods
The coloured label on the book’s spine indicates the length of a loan period:

Reference only- material has to be worked with in the library

7 days

No label
21 days
|
7 day and 21 day loans should automatically renew for staff and students for up to 12 weeks (unless they become reserved). An email is sent if items cannot be renewed for any reason.

1 Day Loan Items
1 day loan items show a pink '1 day loan' label and are books in high demand. They are shelved along with other loan categories in the main book stock.
1 day loan items can be loaned overnight using the self-service machines. They have a return date of 11.45 the next day and are not renewable. They should be returned promptly via a self service machine as they accrue high penalty points if returned late.
