Laptop Loans

Laptops are now available for use in the library

LaptopPlease ask at the Copy Centre help desk if you want to borrow one or enquire via the Mountbatten Information Point.

This loans service is available from:

Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 8.45pm
Fridays 8.30am to 6.45pm
Saturday 10am to 4.45pm
Sundays 10am to 4.45pm

This is a very popular service that we provide. If you want to know about how it works please ask at the copy centre desk or ask at one of the other help desks.

If you want to borrow a laptop you must complete a signed laptop loan form which states the full terms and conditions that apply to these loans. All laptop loans must be handed in at least 15 minutes before closing time and must be handed to an ambassador or member of staff and not left unattended at any of the help desks.

Loans on week days in term-time must be handed in to staff or ambassadors by no later than 11.30pm and by 7.45pm at the weekend.

Laptops must not be left unattended at any time as users are held responsible for the laptop until it has been handed in to us and then been removed from their library borrowing account.

Laptops are available for use in the library only and must not be taken out of the library. Any deliberate attempt to take one of the laptops outside of the building or to remove security identification / tagging may be regarded as attempted theft and will render users liable to disciplinary proceedings and / or reporting to the police.

Loans are not transferable to another user.

Please note: Misuse of laptops may result in users being blocked from borrowing them in future. Fines may also be levied and charges will be made for the repair or replacement of lost or damage laptops or accessories.
