Steve Rose
Head of Library and Learning Services
Career Background
I spent 15 years in health and medical academic libraries (at the Universities of Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Oxford) before moving into the management of mainstream academic library services.
Before taking up this post, I was Head of Reader Services at Oxford University Library Services. I am a History graduate (1985) from Hull University. I hold a Diploma in Library and Information Studies from (the former) Leeds Polytechnic and an MSc in Information Management from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Interests
Professional interests include user involvement in the development, delivery and evaluation of library & information services, evidence-based practice and information literacy skills training.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling. San Francisco and Dublin are my two favourite cities. I can often be found sampling the beer in traditional public houses whilst (not at the same time!) trying to redress the balance by swimming.
