Subject Responsibilities

I am one of a team of learning resources assistants who support the six information librarians.

Career Background

I have had quite an eclectic working background, starting my working life as a foreign exchange administrator for business clients at Thomas Cook. I have worked with very young children in my role as a childminder trainer, and running a playgroup. I have also worked for Audi and yes have been on a car mechanics course, but please don't ask me to fix your car - it's all very different now!

I joined Southampton Solent University in 2003 part time as a library assistant, became a full time senior library assistant working with Collection Support and Access then as a LRA covering maternity leave supporting Law, and the Human Sciences and later supporting Art and Design, Media and Communications.

Interests

I have four children (across a range of ages) as part of a blended family which help keep me rather busy, if that doesn't work I also have a five year old Jack Russell Terrier who is very good at, well being a terrier!

During quiet times (cough) I do like music (very eclectic mix), spending time with family and friends and shopping, especially for shoes and bags - which I do have a bit of a passion for.
