Unfortunately the process for getting paid for the first time is complicated. Make sure you have done all the steps below to ensure you get paid.
1. Students who have worked for Campus Jobs in the past should still be on the payroll system. If you are not sure, check with payroll on 023 8201 3382, or email payroll@solent.ac.uk.
2. Register before starting work (see How to register). Once you have been offered work by Campus Jobs you must complete an online registration. You will not be paid until you have done this.
Students’ registration is not only compulsory for payroll purposes it is also a legal requirement from HM Revenue and Customs. It enables them to process employment checks, including work permit visas, prior to a student starting a job. During this process, you will be required to agree to the terms and conditions.
To complete the registration process you are required to complete a bank detail and tax declaration form and return it to Payroll (A101). A copy is below, and is also included in the Campus jobs information pack.

3. Complete the Campus Jobs monthly claim form. This must be signed by your supervisor and/or the budget holder. Once completed and signed, your supervisor will need to submit the form directly to payroll (A101) before the payroll deadline. You are entitled to a copy of the completed claim form.
4. Meet payroll deadlines. You must register online and submit your monthly claim form by the payroll deadline which is 3pm on the 8th of each month (December is earlier). All original documents required go to Payroll in A101.
Until you complete steps 2 to 4 you will not be paid. Any online registration documents or timesheets received after the deadline will be held over to the following month.
The registration process is online and involves a separate login on the external Solent website. We have created a flow chart to guide you through this process.
