The Solent Futures team at Solent is committed to getting students into great graduate careers.
While you're studying they can help you with finding work experience or placements, link you with a mentor, check your CV or offer one to one guidance. Look out for our employer events, which take place throughout the year. If you're in your final year, we have graduate job opportunities just for Solent graduates.
Some of our programmes and events are also available to you after you graduate.
Email email@example.com to find out more.
Come to the advice desk in the Solent Futures Centre (RM001) if you have any questions about searching for jobs, sharpening up your CV, starting your own business or just need more information about what we do.
Open every weekday between 11am and 4pm during term time.
Interested in starting your own business? Our advisers can answer your questions about how Solent can help with that.
We offer regular workshops during term-time. Our most popular topics are 'creating a great CV' and 'finding a graduate job', but look out for other topics on more specialist subjects such as careers in teaching.
Details of workshops are listed under events on the employability home page
These one-to-one sessions are appropriate for students who have more in-depth queries. Advisers are asked about postgraduate study, researching career options, decision making and more. We also offer mock interview practice.
Careers guidance appointments take place in a small confidential office. The office is wheelchair accessible.
Your appointment will last approximately 45 minutes and will be with one of Solent University’s qualified careers guidance practitioners.
Prior to your appointment, we recommend that you look at the careers development resources in Careerbox that you will find on Solent Online Learning at careerbox.solent.ac.uk

Enterprise advisers offer impartial advice and practical help on freelance work and setting up a new business. We recommend that you look at the online advice pages we've created to get an idea of what is on offer, as we have a variety of programmes available. You can also stop in to see us at the Solent Futures centre (RM001).

At the end of it they get a graph of their results. The main purpose is to encourage awareness of the various aspects of employability and to think about how they might be developed.
There are 48 questions altogether. The test should take about 10-15 minutes.
