Entrepreneur Units

EntrepreneursThe new Curriculum Plus enterprise option units have been developed as part of an integrated enterprise programme to help students set up their own business, tapping into the wealth of student potential and funding to create the entrepreneurs of the future.

Successful completion of each unit will result in the award of 20 credit (CAT) points.

The Capability for Innovation (C4I) CPU116

This introductory unit helps you explore your ideas and develops your innovation and creativity to help you experience what it takes to turn an idea into a career. This unit focuses on the process of creating ideas should you believe that you might aspire to be an entrepreneur and then later move on to run your own business.

The unit leads you through a structured programme of creative activities including state of the art simulation software. By engaging in the ideation process you will develop a truly entrepreneurial idea suitable for pitching to an investor.

Assignment will be a portfolio with a reflective statement.

The Plan to Succeed (P2S) CPU117

This unit requires you to have a sound idea for a business. By engaging with business and technical experts you will be challenged to test your idea for commercial success. The end result will be a professional business plan ready for submission to a chosen funding body.

You will be exposed to the stable of business start-up skills that fledgling entrepreneurs usually have to acquire from ‘dawn at day one’ in order to survive in a competitive market place.

Assignment will be a portfolio with a reflective statement plus a short video presentation.
