Personal values in action

Volunteers

This unit will enable you to develop your personal and professional skills, particularly skills in working with and for others, to develop a greater understanding of community organisation and issues, to learn more about yourself and your abilities, and to make a positive contribution to society.

There are a wide range of activities to get involved in and you will be given help and support in finding a suitable placement. You will negotiate and agree a personal learning contract.

Requirements

You have to do at least 50 hours of work on your placement.

Assessment

This unit is assessed in two parts:
10% ‐  a learning log submitted electronically via Turnitin in November 
90% ‐ Unit Portfolio, submitted in hard copy in March/April which includes reflective statement and supporting evidence.
