Inter-campus bus service

The University provides an inter-campus bus service for students and staff. The service operates between our city campus and Warsash campus.

If you have any questions in regards to the inter-campus bus service please contact or call the facilities duty manager on ext. 4190 or Warsash reception on ext 4206.

Who can use the service?

The inter-campus bus service is intended for the following groups and giving priority to:

  1. Students attending courses entitled to the inter-campus bus service as part of their course fee.
  2. City campus/Warsash campus students who require access to facilities as part of their course. University staff please email to arrange travel for your students, seats will be subject to availability.
  3. Staff travel between campus to undertake work duties, staff campus cards should be used as a bus pass, seats will be subject to availability.

Please note that Bicycles are NOT permitted on the inter-campus buses.

Students entitled to free inter-campus bus travel

Courses entitling students to inter-campus bus travel as part of their course fee are as follows:

Deck section

  • Deck OOW
  • MCM (HND + exam route)

Engineering section

  • Engineer OOW routes

Who is the service provider?

The inter-campus bus service is provided by our service partner Xelabus. Xelabus are committed to providing a good quality, reliable and flexible service with the emphasis being excellent customer service.

Service timetable 2015/16

The service will operate on Monday to Friday during term periods (excluding weekends and bank holidays).

Important notice for students travelling to and from Warsash

From Tuesday 3 May 2016, all passengers using the inter-campus bus will be required to present promptly at 7.30am to board the morning services.

The bus can only be boarded at the city campus bus stop at the designated boarding time and passengers will not be allowed to board at any other location.

Please ensure you allow adequate time to ensure you are at the bus stop to use the transport provided, passengers will not be permitted to travel if they do not arrive at the boarding time.
